Peter Moreton's New CCD

This image of Barnard 33 (the Horsehead nebula) and IC 434 was obtained by Bob Neville, using NNHS member Peter Moreton's prototype R401E. The CCD is an engineering grade Kodak KAF-0401LE, with anti-blooming gates. No data calibration (flat fields and dark frames) has been applied to this image. FITSX was used to apply a noise reduction algorithm. For full details of this new instrument, and other images obtained with it, see Peter's web site: Rockingham Instruments.
