1st (Tue) Bring Show and Tell An opportunity for members to bring their own work or queries, and to see other peoples work and to learn new techniques.   MICROSCOPY

2nd (Wed) Set Subject, “Dereliction”. Entry of four images, of projected slide/digital, and/or prints. Trophy round. 8.00pm start   PHOTOGRAPHY

3rd (Thu) The NNHS Herbarium. A report on the Society’s Herbarium. We have over 8,500 sheets of plant specimens, going back as far as 1818. A group of volunteers have been curating these for ten years. Come along and see the results of many years of work.   BOTANY

5th (Sat) Today we go to Daventry for lunch and a walk. Bus Dart 11.15am.*, or meet at 12.00 noon in the New Street bus station, Daventry.   SATURDAY WALKS

7th (Mon)  Herbarium Working Group. We will be tending to the society’s herbarium. All welcome, no experience needed.       10.00-12.00 noon   BOTANY

9th (Wed) Themes, Schemes and Dreams by Brian Gaylor FRPS. Enjoy Brian’s superb images of his home town of Swansea, and great sense of humour in his commentary in this MCPF recorded lecture.  8.00pm  PHOTOGRAPHY

10th (Thu) Working on the Railway. Lecture by Colin Freeman. Colin will reminisce about the years he spent working on the Northampton railways. 2.30pm   GENERAL

12th (Sat) Camp Hill walk. Bus F.N. 12. 1.33pm.*, or meet at 1.55pm at Dayrell Rd bus stop. Tea at Tesco.   SATURDAY WALKS

13th (Sun) Northamptonshire Weather Workshop. A review of the recent local weather. Followed by a study of the society’s extensive and detailed weather records.  2.30pm start   METEOROLOGY

14th (Mon) Fossil Galactic Clusters, lecture by Dr Habib Khosroshahi.   ASTRONOMY

16th (Wed) Open House. The rooms will be open for members and guests to look at the library books, magazines and exhibits. Tea, coffee, soup and light lunches available.       10.30am-2.30pm.

16th (Wed) Underwood Cup Pictorial competition. Projected images, slide & digital. Final  8.00pm start  PHOTOGRAPHY

17th (Thu) Elements: Part 4. The Non-Metals. Concluding the series of talks on the Natural Elements which make up every particle of matter on Earth and throughout the Universe. Lecture by Seán Karley.      GEOLOGY

19th (Sat) A walk by the lakes in Rushmere Road. Bus Pluto1. 1.30pm.*, or meet near Cliftonville Road at 1.40pm.   SATURDAY WALKS

22nd (Tue) Sweet Shops in Old Northampton, lecture by Colin Freeman. Colin’s lecture to the General Section was so popular, the Archaeology section has invited him to talk about sweet shops this time.    ARCHAEOLOGY & HISTORY

23rd (Wed) Portrait Lighting. A practical, informal evening led by Vic Seaton. Vic, who has many years experience, will guide us through how to light and pose a model in a studio situation.   8.00pm start.  PHOTOGRAPHY

24th (Thu) Constricting Snakes. Vic and Mary Seaton will describe and illustrate the different constricting snakes to be found in the world.    2.30pm start.    ZOOLOGY

26th (Sat) Welford Road to Whitehills. Bus F.N.10. 1.25PM.*, or meet at The Windmill PH, Welford Road at 1.55pm. Tea available.   SATURDAY WALKS

28th (Mon) George’s Planet, by Andy Lound.   ASTRONOMY

30th (Wed) Print Competitions. Black and White. General and portraits. Final. Jubilee Cup colour prints, and tinted monochrome prints.   Final   8.00pm start   PHOTOGRAPHY
