1st (Thu) “Some Like it Hot!” Plants on Central American Volcanoes by Hilary Erenler. Hilary will show images of a variety of plants found close to two persistently active volcanoes in Central America. She will discuss the areas where the plants are found and the adaptations needed to survive life on the edge.   BOTANY

3rd (Sat) Our walk is from Rectory Farm to Great Billing. Meet in bus station for bus FN2 at 1.28pm,*.   SATURDAY WALKS

6th (Tue) Members Photographic Evening. An opportunity to show off your latest pictures on a microscopic theme (all sections welcome!).   MICROSCOPY

7th (Wed) Images of Northamptonshire 1910-1940 A popular show of slides selected from the society’s  collection of large format glass slides. 8.00pm start.   PHOTOGRAPHY

8th (Thu) Birds Alan Le Fort visits us again and presents a selection of his beautiful images.   2.30pm start   GENERAL

10th (Sat) Today we go to Blisworth where we can either walk around this very pleasant village or tread the towpath besides the canal. Meet in the bus station for bus SC 89 at 1.50pm,*.    SATURDAY WALKS

11th (Sun) Weather Workshop We will discuss the weather events and trends of the last month, and look forward to next month’s weather.   2.30pm start.   METEORLOGY

12th (Mon) Curation Group A good opportunity to explore the society’s historic collections as we continue to curate them. No experience needed.  10.30am to 12.30pm

12th (Mon) Observing the Sun by Lee Macdonald. Lee is a keen observer of the Sun (and Deep Sky) and the author of How to observe the Sun safely. He is the ideal person to introduce us to observing our nearest star.   ASTRONOMY

14th (Wed) Underwood Cup Pictorial image competition. Three projected images, digital and/or slide.   Round 3 of 3  8.00pm start.   PHOTOGRAPHY

17th (Sat) Brixworth where we can explore the back lanes around the historic church. Meet in the bus station for bus SC X7 at 1.20pm,*. Tea in the Heritage Centre.   SATURDAY WALKS

21st (Wed) Open House The rooms will be open for members and guests to study the literature and exhibits. Tea, coffee, and light lunches available.  10.30am-2.30pm

21st (Wed) Freelance Frenzy by John Credland. John is a freelance photographer from Buckingham. He describes the trials and tribulations of a typical day in the life of a local Freelance Photographer. 8.00pm start.   PHOTOGRAPHY

23rd (Fri) President's Evening. The Nature of Fineshade Woods and the Red Kites by Brian Sumpton. Brian is a volunteer for the R.S.P.B. at Fineshade Woods. He has been actively involved in introducing people to the wildlife of the woods and the Red Kites since they were successfully re-introduced to the area by the Forestry Commission 12 years ago 7.30pm start. 24th (Sat) We will visit Bugbrooke today which offers a canal-side walk or a very pleasant stroll through the village taking in the church. Meet in the bus station for bus SC D3 at 1.05pm,*.   SATURDAY WALKS

26th (Mon) Curation Group A good opportunity to explore the society’s historic collections as we continue to curate them. No experience needed.  10.30am to 12.30pm

26th (Mon) AGM & Telescopic Topics. The Section's short AGM where we will select officers and discuss Section matters before an early tea break, followed by a Spring Telescopic Topics session.   ASTRONOMY

27th (Tue) A History of England in Inn Signs  by Mr Day. The lecturer has a great knowledge of this subject and will leave you looking at Inn Signs with a new interest and appreciation.  ARCHAEOLOGY & HISTORY

28th (Wed) Set Subject  “Yellow” Three images, projected and/or prints. Trophy Round. External judge, Robert Seaton.     8.00pm start.   PHOTOGRAPHY

29th (Thu) Natural History Quiz Vic Seaton uses his extensive knowledge of the natural world to set us an entertaining and informative quiz. 2.30pm start     ZOOLOGY
