2nd (Sat) The Northamptonshire village of Kislingbury is our walk for today. Bus D.3. 1.05pm.*, or meet at the “Red Lion” at 1.25pm.   SATURDAY WALKS

9th (Sat) We walk around the village of Nether Heyford today. Bus D3. 12.05pm.*, or meet at “The Foresters Arms” at 12.30pm.   Picnic Lunch.   SATURDAY WALKS

10th (Sun) Weather Workshop. We will discuss the weather events and trends of the last month.  The meeting will be led by Mike Longman.  2.30pm start   METEOROLOGY

13th (Wed) Open House. The rooms will be open for members and guests to look at the library books, magazines and exhibits. Tea, coffee, soup and light lunches available.           10.30am-2.30pm.

14th A La Ronde. In the late 18th century, two cousins, Jane and Mary Parminter built this quirky house to display many of the treasures they had acquired on the grand tour of the continent. A feather frieze and a shell encrusted gallery are two of the unusual features. Maurice Barlow will give an illustrated talk on this unusual building now in the keeping of the National Trust.     2.30pm start   GENERAL

16th -25th (Sat-Mon) Gaping Gill Winch Meet Ingleborough, West Yorkshire. Members are invited to visit and descend into the deepest open pothole in Britain. (Free to go down; £10 to come back up). 26th (Tue) Annual Summer Supper. Buffet meal with a slide show before and after. This year Jack and Joan Johnson present their new audio visual programme of Northamptonshire Stately Homes. 30th (Sat) NNHS World AstroCast 2008. Lecture by Prof. Emeritus Jim Kaler (USA) A series of live web based presentations from all over the world. Presented by our own Astronomy Section.
