1st (Mon)  Herbarium Working Group. We will be tending to the Society’s herbarium. All welcome, no experience needed.  10.00-12.00 noon   BOTANY

2nd (Tue) Adulteration of Food, Past and Present by Patricia Olive and John Smeathers. Patricia and John look at how food has been adulterated over time and how it can be identified under the microscope.   MICROSCOPY

3rd (Wed) Northamptonshire, The Changing County. Members were given copies of 99 local images from the NNHS image archives taken between 1910-1940. We will see how the locations have changed in the intervening years.  8.00pm start.   PHOTOGRAPHY

4th (Thu) President’s Evening. Patrick Rawlinson, section president, will be showing another selection of images from his extensive slide collection.   BOTANY

8th (Mon) Astronomy Section Christmas party. A light hearted meeting full of fun and cheer.   ASTRONOMY

10th (Wed) Print Competitions. Monochrome General and Monochrome Portrait competitions. Jubilee Cup, colour print competition, and tinted monochrome prints competition.   Round 2 of 3   8.00 start.   PHOTOGRAPHY

11th (Thu) Christmas in Northampton Past. Ruth Thomas will help us to remember what seasonal Northampton was like years ago. Doubtless others too will recall Christmas past and perhaps contribute to an afternoon of nostalgia. 2.30pm start.   GENERAL

14th (Sun) Weather Workshop. We will discuss the weather events and trends of the last month. 2.30pm  METEOROLOGY

16th (Tue) Music from the Past.  Richard and Elizabeth York return with a selection of their old musical instruments to give us another evening of songs and carols from long ago. Refreshments available, £1.   ARCHAEOLOGY & HISTORY

17th (Wed) Open House. The rooms will be open for members and guests to look at the library books, magazines and exhibits. Tea, coffee, soup and light lunches available. Christmas lunch available to those who have prebooked. 10.30am-2.30pm

17th  (Wed)  Christmas Party.  Bring food and drink, with seasonal competitions and games.  8.00pm   PHOTOGRAPHY
