2nd (Sat) Wellingborough is the visit today with a chance to see the Museum. Bus S.C. X4 1.45pm. or meet at Church Street, Wellingborough, at 2.15pm.   SATURDAY WALKS

4th (Mon)  Herbarium Working Group. We will be tending to the society’s herbarium. All welcome, no experience needed.          10.00-12.00 noon   BOTANY

5th (Tue) Bryophytes, a joint lecture with the Botany section, presented by John Smeathers. The Bryophyte group includes the Mosses and Liverworts. This will be a absorbing lecture as the two sections describe and image these two groups of plants     BOTANY & MICROSCOPY

6th (Wed) Underwood Cup. Pictorial image competition. Four projected images, slide and/or digital. Round 3 of 3.         8.00pm start.   PHOTOGRAPHIC

9th  (Sat) Delapre Abbey is the walk today with a chance to see the Snowdrops. Bus S.C. 15. 1.40pm*. or meet at Delapre Abbey at 2.00pm. Tea Available.   SATURDAY WALKS

10th (Sun) Weather Workshop. The Society holds weather records going back many years. We will study and organise the data.   2.30pm start.   METEOROLOGY

11th (Mon) Apollo, One Small Step. Lecture by Andy Green. Andy reviews the full gambit of the Apollo missions. The thrills and spills of the race to the moon and the true costs results of the missions.   8.00pm start.   ASTRONOMY

13th (Wed) Open House. The rooms will be open for members and guests to look at the library books, magazines and exhibits. Tea, coffee, soup and light lunches available.  10.30am-2.30pm.

13th  (Wed) From Silver to Silicon.  Illustrated lecture by John Credlands. John looks at the way the change in recording medium has affected the ordinary photographic enthusiast in the journey from the Calotype to Digital.      8.00pm start.   PHOTOGRAPHIC

14th (Thu) Section AGM, followed by a D.V.D presentation on Ancient Egypt.    2.30pm start.   GENERAL

16th (Sat) East Hunsbury Walk. Bus S.C. 14. 1.35pm*. or meet at Tesco’s at 1.50pm. Tea available.   SATURDAY WALKS

18th (Mon) Main Society Council Meeting. 7.30pm

20th (Wed) Digital Set Subject, “Hazards”. A competition of four digital image files for projection. Followed by a practical demonstration on how selected images may be improved in Photoshop. 8.00pm start.   PHOTOGRAPHIC

21st (Thu) Section AGM. Followed by “Bring and Show”. Everyone please bring some things to show and tell us about, or that need identifying.   GEOLOGY

23rd (Sat) Towcester visit today for lunch and a walk. Bus S.C. 88. 11.20am*. or meet on the square,  Towcester, at 11.50am.   SATURDAY WALKS

25th (Mon) Lecture by Dr Anne Bonner. Subject to be announced.   ASTRONOMY

26th (Tue) Section AGM. Followed by a D.V.D. presentation “Secrets of the Pharaohs”. Finger buffet available at a cost of £1.   ARCHAEOLOGY & HISTORY

27th (Wed) Photographic Section AGM. Your chance to have your say in the running of the section. Prompt   8.00pm   start.   PHOTOGRAPHIC

28th (Thu) The World of Butterflies by Vic and Mary Seaton. The butterflies of Britain and the World are the subject of this months lecture.   2.30pm start.   ZOOLOGY
