1st (Mon) Curation Group A good opportunity to explore the society’s historic collections as we continue to curate them. No experience needed.  10.30am to 12.30pm

2nd (Tue) Ferns an illustrated talk by Seán Karley.  Seán will assist us with his expert knowledge on botany to study the finer points and peculiarities of ferns.    MICROSCOPY

3rd (Wed) Print Competitions Monochrome General and Monochrome Portrait competitions. Jubilee Cup, colour print competition, and tinted monochrome prints.   Round 3 of 3.    8.00pm start.   PHOTOGRAPHY

4th (Thu) Biodiversity on Restored Landfill Sites in Northamptonshire by Lutfor Rahman BSc, MSc in forestry. Lutfor has investigated plants, birds, ground beetles and land snails in nine restored landfill sites in Northamptonshire, to assess the biodiversity.    BOTANY

6th (Sat) BAA hold their Deep Sky Section Meeting in the Humfrey rooms, all welcome. Contact Nick,  nickdhewitt@btinternet.com for entry cost and times.    

6th (Sat) We walk in Duston before visiting the annual Flower Festival at the URC church. Meet in the bus station for bus SC 9A at 1.40pm,*.  Tea available.    SATURDAY WALKS

11th (Thu) Sand Under the Microscope Mike Gibson presents a selection of the marvellous sand slides donated by Doug Richardson.     2.30pm start   GENERAL

13th (Sat) Wellingborough is today's walk followed by a visit to the town’s excellent museum. Meet in the bus station for bus SC X46 at 1.00pm,*.    Tea available.    SATURDAY WALKS

14th (Sun)  Weather Workshop. We will discuss the weather events and trends of the last month, and look forward to next month’s weather.   2.30pm start.   METEOROLOGY

17th (Wed) Open House The rooms will be open for members and guests to study the literature and exhibits. Tea, coffee, and light lunches available.  10.30am-2.30pm

17th (Wed) Practical Night: Indoor Close-up and Micro Photography. Paul Hayes, Vic Seaton and Alan Le Fort will demonstrate their own methods of photographing and lighting small natural subjects. Mike Gibson from the Microscopy section will show us how to photograph really small items. 8.00pm start.   PHOTOGRAPHY

23rd (Tue) Unusual Marriages by Eric Jenkins. No programme for this section would be complete without at least one talk by this always popular lecturer.   ARCHAEOLOGY & HISTORY

25th (Thu) A Journey Down the River Nene A trip down the river Nene looking at the river, its wildlife and scenery.    2.30pm start   ZOOLOGY

27th (Sat)  Rushmere to Cliftonville area of Northampton is the walk today. Meet in the bus station for bus FN 5B at 1.22pm,*.    Tea available.    SATURDAY WALKS

29th (Mon) Telescopic Topics. Section members can showcase their interests and results. With a chance to discuss observations, events and theories over a cup of tea and biscuits.   ASTRONOMY

31st (Wed) Karley’s Karst Lecture by Seán Karley. Seán explores in his own informative way the geology, botany and speleological wonders that can be found in the Limestone areas in Britain and Ireland.  8.00pm start.   PHOTOGRAPHY
