Mark worked for the RSPB for 25 years and will tell us the story of the demise of the Passenger Pigeon. The 1st September 2014 marked the centenary of one of the best-documented extinctions following the death in Cincinnati Zoo of Martha – the last of her kind. Just 50 years previously the Passenger Pigeon had been the most numerous bird on the planet.
