Following discussions with our host sites and speakers, it has been decided to postpone World AstroCast day until early next year... The decision was a difficult one but the small delay will allow more sites to be able to join in with World AstroCast day.

“Stars line up for first World AstroCast”
An all star speaker line up is being organised for the first World AstroCast. Scheduled for 13th October 2007, up to 22 recipient sites worldwide will be able to take part in the first live amateur astronomer video cast.
Currently the following high-profile speakers have agreed to participate:

The event is being hosted by the Astronomy Section of the Northamptonshire Natural History Society (UK)

It is intended that there will be simultaneous translation in to four languages. Countries participating will be Australia, New Zealand, India, Spain, France, Germany, Italy, United Kingdom, Ireland, USA, Canada. It is expected that between 1000 to 2500 amateurs will be participating in the event. The programme starts at 0800UT and continues till 2000UT on the 13th October. This is all part of the 50th anniversary celebrations of the founding of the astronomy section in the Society.
Tickets for the event live in the Humfrey rooms are now available. Advance booking (two weeks prior to the event) £10:00, after this date £15:00. (NNHS terms and conditions apply.) Cheques may be sent in GBP £ made payable to the Northamptonshire Natural History Society for the required number of tickets. Please add £0-50p for P&P (see below for address details)
